Concrete Surface

Closing off an amazing year for 2018, MYR saw the releases of many world class artists hit the shores of the electronic world as the young German imprint continued to grow from strength to strength. 2019 looks to be the label's biggest year to date as it kicks off its release schedule with a fiery two track EP from label boss Goeran Meyer called “Concrete Surface”.

Featuring a gorgeous cinematic soundscape, the first track titled “People Walk Through” evolves and winds down a road of gradual percussion, its rolling presence constantly being lifted through dark vocal stabs and a warm, growing bassline. Goeran's approach to his music always starts with a journey — the context of how the sounds unfold is as important as the music itself, as he transports you through an ever-changing landscape of musical sculptures.

Following up the first track and closing the EP, the second song titled “Our Lives” is an energy infused dancefloor filler with punchy warm drum progressions layered with warm, dripping analogue synth stabs that lift and build throughout the track, bringing the EP to a well-rounded close from start to end.
