Kidnap 'Colder Water' EP [Birds That Fly]

Kidnap returns with his next outstanding record, 'Cold Water'. Following on from the release of Kidnap's debut album 'Grow' which saw a plethora of support on Sirius XM's Chill playlist as well as spins from Radio 1's Pete Tong and Annie Mac, Kidnap has gone from strength to strength. In 2020 he made his highly anticipated return to Anjunadeep with 'Silence' as well as an outstanding collab with long-term collaborator and friend, Lane 8.

First up on this stunning two-track EP is the title track. 'Cold Water' is a breathtaking piano infused house music offering featuring a beautiful vocal from Lydy May. Kidnap's talent for emotive melodies is evident from the off as piano intertwines with a downtempo drum pattern and luring vocal. This is a song for reflection that whisks the listener off their feet and into a world of their own imagination.

'Untroubled' makes up the B-side. Kidnap skillfully introduces a dotted piano pattern into the arrangement which gives this production a sense of urgency and playfulness. As the track builds, steely snyths are introduced signalling an impending moment of euphoria as the track reaches its climax. This is a track with a spring in its step and ties off Kidnap's first release of 2021 in style!
